Introducing Urban Hotel Istana‘s Eclectic-Fusion’ culinary theatre, where the show takes place right on the diner’s table atop the very plates that the food is served on. Its brand new act is the three-course menu designed to titillate and amaze.

Take the seared tuna, an appetiser from its ‘Hot off the Grill’ menu which narrates the love affair of the pureed Kalamata Greek olives and chunky strips of pan seared tuna. Crisp on the outside, slightly underdone on the inside, the tuna is a tale that has juicy tenderness written all over it. To add a touch of intrigue, there is the zesty tang of tomato chutney which gives the dish a touch of suspense by flooding the palate with its sweet and sour-ish notes.

There are fourteen other appetisers to choose from and the foie gras, paired with exotic fruit chutney, is a siren in its own right. A refreshing lychee wasabi sorbet is served to prepare diners for the main course. The wasabi is neither overpowering nor imperceptible and will evoke a certain tingle to the tongue.

For mains, thirteen dishes have been put forth for the diner’s selection. The roasted Barramundi fillet gets a special mention, so does the Black Angus rib bye which is done to perfection.

There are also four heavenly specials in the gourmet category and one of them is the oven baked lobster which is flavoured with brandy and mustard and served with truffles. Other must-try dishes include the grain fed short ribs, Wagyu striploin steak and a seafood platter of baked salmon, king prawn, scallops, baby lobster and mussels. And lastly, there is the apple crumble. This well-loved dessert has already garnered some rave reviews among the most discerning of diners.
