Olive extract for joint health

March 31st, 2012

OLIVE an essential part of the Mediterranean diet, are thought to be responsible for the longevity of southern European populations and their low rates of cancer and heart disease. New evidence today shows why and it lies within the high levels of antioxidant polyphenols, especially hydroxytyrosol (HT).

HT appears to slow ageing, promote healthy skin and joints, and strengthens the immune system after a dietary intake of 10mg a day. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) also concludes that HT protects low-density lipoprotein (LDL) particles f rom oxidative damage, thus, reducing risks of heart disease.

OLIFERINOliferin, an olive-based supplement, uses an international patented olive extract as its primary active ingredient. Founded by a Madrid based scientist, Dr Jeronimo Diaz, each capsule contains a minimum of 15mg of poly phenols and 12mg of HT, which is the highest amount of olive extract available. lt also contains lactoferrin, a potent iron-binding glyprotien extracted from milk with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.

The olive extract is produced from fresh olive pulps in collaboration with the Spanish Ministry of Science and innovation under stringent standards. Oliferin claims to be the only olive extract in the world processed with the sole use of physical or mechanical means without the use of solvents. This technique allows poly phenols to be easily absorbed by the human body, thus providing the necessary antioxidant protection.

Julie Yeo-Low is an arthritis sufferer who would readily attest to the effectiveness of the product. Her ailment had troubled her to the point that her fingers became crooked and she couldn’t hold cutlery properly.

After having taken two capsules of Oliferin daily for a week, Yeo-Low started seeing results. She has now been taking Oliferin for seven months and today, she says, the numbness has disappeared completely and her crooked fingers “are getting straighter”.

Oliferin is certified by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), a testament to its highly effective antioxidant agents that fight against free radicals. It is also the first and only olive fruit extract certified halal by Jabatan Kemajuan lslam Malaysia (JAKIM). For more information, contact 03-77222396 or visit www.nutriva2u.com
