The newly opened Chez Weng is rather swanky place with a touch of raw industrial and earthy vibe. Furnished with bare minimal clay bricks with cement rendered floors and ceilings, the minimalist setting creates a very spacious interior. No frills hanging light bulbs hang from the high ceilings, dried vines and twigs lace part of the wall, crawling their way up to the ceiling. Fairy lights peek through the sculptured vines, emitting a sprinkle of pretty twinkling lights.

The dark wood bar area with high framed legged chairs with burgundy seats and apt with a variety of liquors, a tall wine rack stocked with aged wines already for people who enjoy a drink or two after a meal. Mirrors behind the bar create extra depth to the place. If you’ve been to CASSIS before, Chez Weng exudes a whole different vibe.

Savour your choice of oven fresh gourmet pizza’s here under the high ceilings come with huge window that let in plenty of natural light during the day. The raw unpainted beams that are made to look worn out such as in old buildings (although the place is brand spanking new) give s a rather chic feeling to it. The unique antlers inspired lights that hang over the bar area adds a manly touch to the overall setting.

Note juicy prawns sprinkled all over the saucy fresh gourmet pizza.

The ingredients used are top notch – we mean how often do you get to have Prosciutto ham on a pizza in Penang? The thin savoury strips of semi transparent ham are one of the good things in life and a must try. Plus it’s Prosciutto and pear! The saltiness of the ham will be offset by the sweetness of the pear is oh so tantalizing.

f you’re a fan of mushrooms then definitely try the Portabella mushroom variant as that mushroom itself is a rather rare find in Malaysia. Drizzled with truffle oil – well that’s just luxury isn’t it?

Slices of Portabello mushroom for those who appreciate the earthy flavours of the unique fungus.

But then again if you like the less unusual flavours such as pepperoni and cheese or the fragrant tomato, basil and Mozzarella then go on. Because regardless which pizza you opt for, you’ll get to enjoy the goodness of fresh ingredients, cooked to its best.
